Statesville Police Department and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Collaborate in Child Pornography Investigation


Statesville, N.C. - April 10, 2024 - The Statesville Police Department, in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, executed a search warrant on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 102 Clegg Street, Statesville, N.C., as part of an ongoing investigation into child pornography.

During the operation, the SPD Violent Crime Unit, along with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, apprehended Joshua Adam Lane. Lane was taken into custody for 10 outstanding warrants for Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. These charges were a result of an investigation led by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

Additional evidence was seized from the residence, and additional charges may follow at the conclusion of the investigation.

Lane was previously out on bond for Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in 2022. He was presented before a magistrate, where he was given a $100,000.00 secured bond for the new charges.
