The American Renaissance School family is so excited about our website.  We hope that this site will serve as a place where you can find out about all the great things that are going on at ARS.  Our K-8 school is striving to provide our stakeholders with the best possible education and learning experiences.  Our revisioning has led us to look at our five core values:  Academic Excellence, Integrity, Safety, Support and Respect.  These values will help direct us as we continue to move forward over the next few years.

Please come and visit the site often and give us feedback on ways we can make it easier for you to find out about our great school!

Sincerely,
Stephen Gay
Principal

All applicants must complete an application and return to school prior to the designated deadline.  This includes siblings of current and/or past students.  Applicants must provide all information requested in the application.  Failure to complete the application in full will remove your application from consideration.  If the number of applications exceeds the number of slots available, a lottery date will be set, applicants notified, and a lottery held to fill openings.  All other applications will be placed on a waiting list set by the lottery.

The lottery process is set by State Law and the school follows all sections of the law outlined by the State of North Carolina.

Applications for the 2010-2011 school year will be available January 4, 2010.

The applications will be due March 12, 2010.

The lottery will be held on March 23, 2010.

Inclement Weather Policy
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
There are many factors considered prior to making the decision to delay or cancel school. The primary concern when inclement weather strikes is the safety of students and staff when traveling on county roads.
When snow or ice conditions are predicted or present, tune your radio or television to the following list of media carriers for an announcement.

TELEVISION: WBTV 3, NBC 6, WSOC 9

RADIO: 1400 AM, 1110 AM, 99.3 FM

If no announcement of delay or cancellation of school is heard, you should understand school is scheduled.
In some cases, school may have to be cancelled after students arrive. Parents need to make arrangements beforehand concerning where a child is to go if school is dismissed (NOTE: After School Care will not operate during these conditions.)

* We do NOT follow the Iredell/Statesville school system inclement weather policy.

For over a decade American Renaissance has been synonymous with adults and children working together to build a place where every child mattered, a place where the academic excellence was not separate from, but included the fine arts and physical education. A place where the whole child was educated and every child could find a niche. In the process, we have grown from a struggling start-up, to a leader raising the bar for education not only in our school, but the school’s around us.

Friends, we could not have done it without your help, and now we are calling on you again. In striving to be the premier school in the region, we have devised a technology plan that will put us in the educational forefront, leading the pack again. Our first Annual Fund campaign is underway with a goal of raising $100,000 to fund our 21st Century Technology plan. As a friend of American Renaissance this is an excellent way to give a little back. Whether you are a current student, family member or alumnus, you can help us reach our goal. It is our hope that every family will contribute to the campaign. No amount is too big or too small, and you can follow our progress together here.
