ARS Charter Renewed by State Board of Education with Ten Year Term

Last Updated 7/19/2021

American Renaissance School is thrilled to announce the renewal of its charter agreement with the State of North Carolina! Last week, the State Board of Education voted to approve a recommendation by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Office of Charter Schools to renew ARS’ charter for the maximum allowable term of ten years.

American Renaissance School is celebrating not only their twentieth year in Historic Downtown Statesville, but now also a renewed ten year commitment to provide the best choice for education. ARS’ legacy in Statesville is well-established, and now more than ever, ARS will continue to be the premiere primary education option in Iredell County. ARS was the first charter opened in Iredell County and was among the first in the county to implement one-to-one technology. ARS students receive experiential education in the arts and in the community that can only be found Downtown, and ARS 8th grade graduates continue to excel in the county’s Early Colleges, AP Academies, IB schools, and other honors high school programs.

As ARS looks toward the future, it is clear that the support of the community has been invaluable. Although the state is only looking for hard metrics like proficient test scores and clean financial audits, that is not what makes a school truly great. ARS boasts not only those state metrics, but also a unique and personal learning environment and culture focused on educating the whole child with proven, time-tested results.
