Health & Safety

We are excited to welcome our ARS families for the 2021-2022 school year

A Message from the ARS Health & Safety Committee:

December 13, 2021 Mask Policy Update

  • ARS will continue under Plan II (masks required) until Wednesday, January 12th.

  • The Health & Safety Committee will reevaluate and make a mask policy recommendation to the ARS Board of Directors on Monday, January 10th.

  • ARS COVID Tracker Information as of December 13, 2021

    • Positive Cases: 6

    • Tracking: 53 (Stated Contact - 43; Symptoms - 10)

  • Please note: Multiple neighboring school districts have been heavily impacted by COVID-19 under optional mask policies. This has resulted in entire schools going virtual, over 1,000 district students being excluded from school, as well as a reinstatement of mask requirements after winter break.

Factors that may help us move toward Plan I (optional mask policy):

  • Significant decreases in community transmission of COVID-19 in Iredell County; AND

  • Submit a copy of a student’s COVID-19 vaccination card to the school nurse; OR

  • Submit a copy of a student’s positive antigen test result to the school nurse (taken within the last 30 days).

Instructions for submitting vaccination status and antigen testing results will follow in the upcoming weeks.

Our  COVID-19 dashboard, a copy of the Health & Safety Committee’s presentation from the monthly Board of Directors meeting, and a copy of the NC Strong Schools Toolkit is available on the Health & Safety page of the ARS website.
