Health & Safety

We are excited to welcome our ARS families for the 2021-2022 school year

A Message from the ARS Health & Safety Committee:

October 11, 2021 Mask Policy Update

The ARS Board of Directors met on Monday, October 11th for their regularly scheduled board meeting. The Health & Safety Committee presented their monthly report and made a recommendation on whether or not to continue in Plan II (masks required). The Board of Directors discussed the need for an extension of the mandatory mask policy that was set to end on Wednesday, October 13th. Following discussions with the Iredell County Health Department, and a presentation by the ARS Health & Safety Committee on continuing high levels of COVID-19 transmission in our region, the Board of Directors voted that American Renaissance School will continue the temporary Plan II mask policy until Wednesday, November 10th, which would require masks for all students, staff, faculty and visitors when indoors. The ARS Health & Safety Committee will continue to evaluate local and school data and will make a recommendation on whether or not to require masks past that date at the regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, November 8th at 5:30 PM.

Under Plan II, American Renaissance School will require all children, staff, and faculty on both campuses to wear face coverings consistently when indoors (regardless of vaccination status). In addition:

  • Masks will be optional for students and faculty when outside
  • Masks will not be required when a student is actively eating or drinking
  • Mask breaks will be incorporated into each school day
  • All visitors will be required to wear a mask (regardless of vaccination status)
  • Masks will be required by both students and faculty during school transportation
