American Renaissance School (ARS) Kicks Off 2021/22 School Year with A New Brand & Website

August 4, 2021 – Iredell County, NC

Late yesterday afternoon, American Renaissance School (ARS) shared their first link on Facebook to what they hope will be a new and improved resource for students, parents, and staff alike.  This introduction of their new website comes just in time to share the robust ‘Back to School’ information available from their teams.

‘While we are excited about the new website, that’s not all that’s new’ Jim Duffey, Executive Director explained during an all-staff meeting on Wednesday.  ‘I am excited to share our new brand to include logo and enhanced school colors with everyone.’

ARS originally opened as American Renaissance Charter School in 1998 and American Renaissance Middle School in 1999. While the two merged in 2007 to form ARS as we know it today, they maintained separate mascots. With 22 years at ARS, Jim has experienced various mascots and logos for the school.  If you are familiar with ARS, you know their black and white crest boasting a knight and a griffin all too well.  There was even once a cardinal at the elementary school prior to the merger.

Looking toward the future and their plans to come together under one roof through expansion, Jim Duffey knew that it was past time to come together under one mascot.  As a Downtown Statesville Community School, ARS looked to neighbor Grant Gaither at OwenGraffix-Creative Group for assistance. Jim knew he wanted a gryphon and was attracted to the one that Owen Graffix used to represent their business.  In 2020 a new Gryphon styled just for ARS was born, but the school tucked it away and held onto it for the right time. That time is now.

Through planning and development discussions in 2020, Jim and the ARS Board of Directors saw a need for an enhanced website.  Downtown Statesville digital agency, Spokeology responded to the challenge.  As a former Board Member and ARS parent, Spokeology owner Cindy Sutton was excited to join forces with ARS to bring their vision for what their site could be to life.  ‘It’s an honor to support the school that helped mold our son into the young man he is today.’ Said Cindy Sutton, CEO of Spokeology. ‘We really enjoyed applying the amazing new brand that our neighbors over at OwenGraffix-Creative Group developed for ARS and hope that this new website can be an asset for ARS as they move towards the future.”

American Renaissance School kicks off back to school with Open House on Monday, August 9th.
